Chris Burns is an American pianist, organist, songwriter, and producer whose deep roots in blues, soul, and R&B have made him a sought-after collaborator for more than three decades. A core member of The Lucky Losers for over ten years, Burns co-writes extensively with Cathy Lemons and Phil Berkowitz and has appeared on all six of the band’s albums, helping shape their signature blend of blues-soul storytelling and groove.
Beyond The Lucky Losers, Burns has enjoyed a long and distinguished career as a performer and musical director. He has worked with legendary vocalist Maria Muldaur for over 30 years and continues to serve as her musical director for live stage productions. His wide-ranging career includes recording, touring, and performing worldwide with an impressive roster of blues and R&B artists, including Elvin Bishop, Little Milton, Joe Louis Walker, Little Johnny Taylor, Johnny Taylor, Sugar Pie DeSanto, Barbara Dane, Freddie Hughes, Big Harp George, Little Frankie Lee, The Drifters, Little Anthony, The California Honeydrops, and many others.
